The year is 1940 and Republic Pictures is plagued by a number of accidents that have caused delays in production. Republic is about to start filming the serial Adventures of Captain Marvel.  They hire P.I. Buck Ames to investigate the accidents, but it soon turns to murder when a dead body is found on the back lot of the studio.  Enter police detective Bill Hanlan a cigar-smoking bulldog of a Cop. He takes an instant dislike to Buck Ames and would like nothing better than to arrest Buck for the murder. Can Buck in his 1937 Cord catch a killer or will Bill Hanlan jail him?  Can Roy Rogers, Yakima Canutt and a host of other movie people help Buck stop a murderer before he can kill again?

Murder at Columbia is a murder mystery set in a Hollywood movie studio in 1943.
Columbia Pictures is about to start filming two movie serials, Batman and the Phantom. The famous studio hires private eye Buck Ames a former stuntman to investigate when a young actress is murdered.  Buck Ames drives a red 1937 Cord as he chases clues to find a murderer. The bodies pile up as a killer strives to cover up one murder with others.  Can Buck Ames catch the murderer before Columbia Pictures is destroyed by a devastating scandal or will the cigar smoking Cop Bill Hanlan beat him to it?  Buck's girlfriend stuntwoman Helen Davis comes to his aid along with the Three Stooges, Bob Kane creator of Batman and other Columbia Picture stars who bring life to this intriguing murder mystery.  Murder at Columbia is a fast paced murder mystery, where fact and fiction merge to form a story that will hold the readers interest until the very last page.
